Jay (Imran Khan) is an assistant to a director who is famous for his love story films; however, Jay hates love stories, and is a player. He believes love is nothing but a "sickness" which must be cured. On the other side of the story, Simran (Sonam Kapoor) loves love stories and has a fiancé named Raj. She is living a perfect life until Jay enters with his cynical opinions on love. It's the typical romance film where the protagonist swears he's never going to fall in love, whereas the heroine is a die-hard romantic; but the protagonist ends up falling in love with the heroine anyway.
